The paper examined the nexus between birth control and poverty reduction in Nigeria, the 6th most populous nation of the world with over 200 million population and about 113 million (63%) people who are multi-dimensionally poor. Both primary and secondary data were utilized. Primary data were gathered through interview method, while secondary data were gathered from existing literatures. Among many others, the study revealed that there is a direct relationship between birth control and poverty reduction in Nigeria. It was recommended that all stakeholders including the family, government, Non-governmental organizations, have a vital role to play in reducing poverty through birth control practices. The paper concluded that, there is still inadequate knowledge about the importance of birth control practices as many still breeds uncontrollably without the means to cater for the children, and thus, increasing poverty level.
